The Brighter Tomorrow Map – backstory

Nearly 2 years ago i posted on Reddit with an idea to help support the massive number of people sleeping on the streets in the UK. I received a hugely positive response to my post – so i took that and have been building a map to help them ever since. I quickly realised that this could help people all around the world the map is now a global map

after 2 years building i’m proud to announce our homelessness resource map is (finally) ready to Alpha launch!!

2 years ago volunteers at Focallocal began building the Brighter Tomorrow Map in response to the many homeless people around the World, and Governments/Charities inability to solve it. I’m proud to announce our homelessness resource map is (finally) ready to Alpha launch. Please tell everyone, and take 5mins adding all the resources you can find to it!

Hack Homelessness and Happiness – February 4th and 5th 2017

We’ve been working on this resource map for 1.5 years now and it’s close to launch. This Hack-Day is to finally finish it, and promote it so it can begin helping those on the streets all around the World.

The map is called the ‘Brighter Tomorrow’s Map’ and it lists all the resources available to people who are living on the streets, with a focus on reducing the barrier between the public who want to do something to help, and those who are living on the streets around the World.

The Independent writes about Andy, Focallocal, and our Homelessness Big Resource Map

We hit the National news again as The Independent report on one of our projects. Ok, they got some details wrong as i’m told time for research was very limited, but its a big step in the right direction. Oh, and the writer enjoyed what we do so much she’s joined us, Welcome Elsa. If we’re really lucky, and nice, she might spread a few of her magically talented words here one day :0)

The Big Street Sleeper Resource Map (Brighter Tomorrow Map)

You’ve seen the astronomical increase in people sleeping on the streets. Its despicable and needs to change. With politicians moving their policies in entirely the opposite direction; despite many studies showing that it costs the state more to deal with the issues caused than it does to support people and help them from falling into that state in the first place.

We need to do something, and so we’re creating a big map for free resources which societies most vulnerable can use find what they need to meet their basic needs, and begin to change their situation.
