I ‘took the challenge’ and thought, why not? I should do these things more often. It’s an experience, and Andy’s enthusiasm to spread smiles was contagious. Article by Adeline

We picked a spot to sit in the sun while we made and decorated some “Unisciti a Noi. Prendere Una Bolla” signs (Join us and Blow a Bubble signs (i hope). We then picked a spot where lots of people were passing, near the Verona Stadium (a cool Colosseum style ancient building)
After Lyon the road trip took me 2000 meters up into the mountains, to an astonishingly beautiful, peaceful and calm lagoon oasis, on the border between France and Italy called Lac du Mont Cenis, which was too perfect to pass without spending a day enjoying the sunshine and crisp fresh air.
There were mountains surrounded in mist, so i went for a couple of hours climbing to..
Focallocal is a great project! Its so simple and i think that’s why it works and helps to connect people. We all live on the same planet, but in our cities and neighborhoods we don’t communicate or collaborate as one anymore; we forgot how much power people have when they get together – The power to build better world. To create a global connection we must start from local communities. We have forgotten that in a community we can share many things, skills, ideas, problems and solutions, and also happiness.
Run-Riot feature Andy’s speech at the ‘Change, How? event on ideas to change how our democracy and society work. Have a read for more about how our project and the wonderful activities our members are all helping to bring to give a smile to everyone around us
Hello, my name is Pako, and I travelled with Andy for a few weeks, supporting the Focallocal Community and Movement, and helping as much I could. IMG20140517061021781 He has asked if I would write an article about a Free Hug activity we did in Paris to share with the Focallocal community my experience and feelings, and how people reacted to us
The money was clearly gone (although I have spent many, many hours searching every corner of the van), and complaining about it wasn’t going to solve anything, so we headed out to meet our friend in Paris, the lovely Dora, who is probably the most enthusiastic and permanently happy person i’ve ever met..

I guess i wanted this trip to be an adventure. I certainly wouldn’t have chosen the beginning its had, but if i can find some way to keep on going then i suppose its will make for the beginnings to an excellent story ..all the best ones tales wouldn’t have happened without a dramatic turn of events.
Take a smile:) its simple right? But people can’t believe that someone is doing this just to make others feel better. So when you are passing and you see people with big poster saying “TAKE A SMILE” who ask you to take one, what do you do? Smile, right? It’s so simple and easy.
Why would we ever want to jump into a van and drive around Europe meeting the most positive and pro-active people in every city, and sharing our happiness with the people on the streets in each city to brighten their day??? well, that’s a good question. i’ve had a go at answering it here
