I made it my mission in life to teach people how they can make the world around them a little friendlier, safer, and happier by using positive projects and activities to target societal issues, and so I seem to have talked myself into something a bit out there again.. Next Saturday, on the 7th July I begin the over 900 kilometre walk from London to Edinburgh, 20-30 km/day, carrying a fabulous free hugs flag created by Irene and creating a new world record for the World’s Longest Free Hugs Event in Terms of Distance to promote our platform focallocal.org re-launching
Mission: Write to your positive friends and invite them to join us for our next International Public Happiness Activity. Our record is 16 towns, villages and cities in 2016. With your help we can beat it this year!
In February we received an email from WhatsappTV asking if we could host an Eye Contact Gathering for them to film and air on Sky One. As a great opportunity to introduce the idea to more people around the world i naturally agreed. Watch it here!
Join me outside the houses of Parliament for a 36 hour group hug to remind politicians as they break for Xmas and their warm homes, that it is an absolute failure of duty that they are taking a break while the record numbers of people sleeping cold on the streets has more than doubled, and they haven’t responded to this national emergency since it began 8 years ago!
I’ve got a challenge for you. Go onto Google search and type in ‘ugly smile’, then click on images
I saw a post on social media making fun of a woman for having an ‘ugly smile’, to me that person looked extremely cute, and i became curious to see if i could find one
Discard any forced smiles for the camera and try to find an ‘ugly smile’. I simply can’t! Here’s the 1st few that came up to give you an idea:
If you agree with me, what lesson can we take from this? #1 happiness is beautiful.
The Worlds Biggest Eye Contact Gathering 2017: London. When you look into someones eyes, their skin colour, race, gender, age, and all other identifying labels become secondary to realisation that you are both human, going through the same beautiful, confusing and scary journey of life
Last year 6,000 Londoners signed up and joined 170 cities around the World in reminding humanity that underneath the skin we are all the same and inviting passersby to reconnect humanity with us through the power of eye contact. 2017 is coming up fast
This years Global Eye Contact Gathering is coming up, coordinated by The Liberators International, we’ll be proudly running the flash-mob in London. want to join in and help spread greater connection around the World
The weather. It’s always a talking point. Maybe its because its something that the whole world has in common. Or maybe its because its an easy topic to start with if you want to break the ice and start a conversation with a stranger. It’s always going to be there, the weather.
We first tried this one while travelling through Toulouse, and it was stunning how easy it was to make new friends, simply by taking some pens and a big sheet of paper into a park. We’ve also tried in busier spaces like markets and shopping centers, where many more people join in, but they don’t stay as long. ..so less new friends, but more peoples creativity onto your Connected Canvas
