I made it my mission in life to teach people how they can make the world around them a little friendlier, safer, and happier by using positive projects and activities to target societal issues, and so I seem to have talked myself into something a bit out there again.. Next Saturday, on the 7th July I begin the over 900 kilometre walk from London to Edinburgh, 20-30 km/day, carrying a fabulous free hugs flag created by Irene and creating a new world record for the World’s Longest Free Hugs Event in Terms of Distance to promote our platform focallocal.org re-launching
I was talking to an old friend the other day, he was complaining at me for not having a house, stable job, wife, kids, etc. My explanation why seemed to satisfy him, and so I thought some of you guys might find it interesting as well.
Most nations are no closer to solving involuntary homelessness than they were in the 60’s. A connected community solves homelessness on its own, and so a few years back i decided to apply the Focallocal model and see whether we could bring people together to tackle the issue ourselves.
Mission: Write to your positive friends and invite them to join us for our next International Public Happiness Activity. Our record is 16 towns, villages and cities in 2016. With your help we can beat it this year!

Congratulations everyone! we’ve reached the Alpha-Launch of both;
the Brighter Tomorrow Map – for helping folk who are homeless around the world
the Positive Action Gathering Map – to build a Global Movement of people meeting to make where they live happier, friendlier and bring more peace into the world
It’s as if most bloggers, media and news sites have reached a point where they’ve realised there really is no down-side in misrepresenting, or simply inventing facts to support their stories. If it agrees with their beliefs most readers will share it anyway, and those who do call it out only increases the attention they get ..and of course in turn their profits…
We’ve been working on this resource map for 1.5 years now and it’s close to launch. This Hack-Day is to finally finish it, and promote it so it can begin helping those on the streets all around the World.
The map is called the ‘Brighter Tomorrow’s Map’ and it lists all the resources available to people who are living on the streets, with a focus on reducing the barrier between the public who want to do something to help, and those who are living on the streets around the World.
